Idea Networks are web-powered and participation is asynchronous; schedules, geography, and time zones are not barriers to participation by the right people. Idea Networks are driven by mathematical algorithms so position power, facilitator bias and other detriments to participation do not inhibit collaboration.
Dan started Idea Networks to help communities address wicked problems and organizations pursue audacious goals with a state of the art methodology grounded in the science of networks. Most recently, he was a hospital executive and an associate professor of Medicine. His research involved applications of idea networks to health challenges in communities and addressing organizational challenges in healthcare. Prior to his work in an academic medical center, he was a consultant applying idea networks with multiple clients that included the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and multiple corporate clients. He also regularly shares his insights about communities addressing complex challenges; he has published multiple articles, several book chapters and made numerous conference presentations.
